Twitter has the right idea with Follow Fridays. I, personally think that Follow Fridays should move over to blogs as well. We re-Tweet the names of our favorite people and Twitter and ask others to follow them so why not do it in blogs too!

I searched around a few of my favorite blogs and look at what I found:

I had such a wonderful time at the Logitech mixer that I fear I will not be able to stop talking about. I figured I would share a few pictures I captured on my camera phone. Maria Bailey of Mom Talk Radio, was the spokesperson for the evening. She taught us how to use LogitechVid, how to get our webcams set up, and how to utilize them to enhance our blogs. . . all while maintaining that she was NOT tech savvy. Right Maria, whatever you say! I forgot to ask if she needed a witty little novice for her show. Ahh, I am sure I will see the marketing genius again! Another genius sitting right there in our midst is the amazing founder of Moms Out Loud! Oh and my and Blissfully D! We had a star studded cast.

2 Monkeys & A Washtub was busy Twittering away. I put an end to that with all my ditsy moments. Aggie, The Loca Loba, is down there hiding, but I know this is NOT the last I will see of that crazy wolf!

Carletta from Homeschool101 and Erica Jones from Organic Baby Resources listening attentively. Erica and Carletta were like hidden gems. Both their sites are so valuable to me I couldn't wait to bookmark them!

They kept us from taking our webcams and running out the door by tempting us with these delicious treats. My Southwest Wrap was so good I went home and made them for dinner. This is also the reason they are not in the photos. Yes, there were casualties.

I wish I could have gotten a close up of the baby blogger. No I am not kidding. He was a cute little dumpling. His mommy was nice enough to give him a ride. Kingdom First Mom was a pro over there learning, making calls, and Twittering away! I was so busy stalking Dian Farmer from Grocery Shop for Free, I forgot to zoom! She brought her daughter (so she says). They were both wonderful. I am running a campaign for her to tell us where the fountain of youth is hiding because this lady just cannot be a grandma!

3 P's in a Pod listening attentively! She is so talented that I wanted to ask her to design my Christmas cards. Next to her is the famous Free Sample Freak! She is living my dream. She is enjoying small town life and getting free stuff at the mall. What could be better?

Walmart Trade-In Program

Walmart has started a new program that will be very beneficial for consumers. The program allows consumers to trade in their old electronics for prepaid gift cards for Walmart and Walmart.com.

Consumers can turn in WORKING items like cell phones, PDA’s, cameras, computers and peripherals, video games, GPS devices, MP3 and audio players, and media and movies to receive gift cards. Gift cards can be used either online or in your local Walmart store. All items that are shipped will receive FREE shipping.

The process is simple. First, visit Gazelle, the Walmart trade-in website and enter the information on your particular electronic. The first question is whether or not it powers on. Next they want to know about the condition of the item (poor to fair). You also need to click whether or not you have certain accessories (power chords, etc.)

Once you have completed the mini-questionnaire, click to get an offer. The amount offered will appear and you can go ahead and begin the FREE shipping process. Grab a box and print out the free shipping label. Finally, send in your item and wait at least 10 days for inspection and processing. After this time, a Walmart giftcard with the amount promised will be sent to you via the United States Postal Service.

It is safe to say that Walmart is going above and beyond to get your business this holiday season. Between the Walmart Trade-In Program and the $10 toy list, there should be a lot of giving this holiday season.

FTC On New Blogger Guidelines

Attention Bloggers, your day has arrived! Its official, the FTC is watching you! For some reason, Bloggers are not reporting their income and freebies for product reviews. This can give the reader the wrong impression.

Effective December 1st, Bloggers must divulge all connections to advertisers. Some companies have created their OWN blogs and are leading consumers to believe they are objective voices when they have an underlying agenda. Those days are over.

Another group being hard pressed are celebrities that endorse products. Celebrities must now reveal their connections with advertisers when endorsing a product on a blog, social network, or television talk show.

A fine of $11,000 will be assessed for those who choose not to comply with the rules. Unfortunately, the FTC will not be adding new staff to regulate this rule so the advertisers will be the main target for a while. Keep in mind that you can easily be reported to the FTC so its best to stay in sync with the law.

I spend a lot of time outside. This time of year, I am spending more time outside than normal. Spending a lot of time outside means I am spending more time with my friends, the mosquitoes! Mosquitoes and my area are the best of friends. Unfortunately, mosquitoes and I are not. I have recently learned that my children are as prone to bites as I am, if not worse.

Since I am a huge fan of making my own stuff, I decided to try and make my own insect repellent. There are several recipes and methods for combating mosquitoes. Here are a few recipes and methods you can try:

Garlic mixed with water applied to the wrist, behind the knee and around the ankle
Wear light clothing with long colored clothing with long sleeves
Citronella, catnip, lavender, eucalyptus, pennyroyal, tansy, thyme, cedar, tea tree, peppermint, basil, and lemongrass oil
Apply citronella, lavender, basil, catnip, pennyroyal, tansy, marigolds to the clothes to help repel mosquitoes.

Diabetes Study

TCR, a clinical research company in north Carrollton, Texas has several studies available. You must have prior diagnosis in order to pre qualify.

1.) Type 2 Diabetes Study - Ages 18 to 70. Must be taking ONLY Metformin HA1C7 or higher. (Cannot be taking multiple Diabetes medicaitons). 2 year study with free Metformin at the end of the study. Pays $30 visit.

2.) Atherosclerosis Study - Ages 18 to 70. You have had high cholesterol for 10+ years. You have been told there maybe NECK or ARTERY PLAQUE buildup of 50% or more. 6 months study.

Pays $1200/6 visits

3.) Rheumatoid Arthritis - Ages 18 to 70. 1 year study. Patient gets monthly infusion medication, no money compensation.

Walgreens Signs

Have you paid much attention to the sign outside Walgreens that tells you what is on sale? Now not quite the LED's above provided by LED's Magazine, but you get the idea. You really should watch these signs because each Thursday they advertise specials that are only on sale that Thursday through Saturday.

Two more important signs at Walgreens are the signs signaling clearance or discount. In the DFW area, orange tags represent clearance and DEEP discounts. Yellow tags or signs represent a price drop marked by percentages. These signs could read, 25%, 50%, etc.

When visiting more than one Walgreens, it is important to make notes on what you see that is on clearance. Make a note even if it is out of stock. It has come to my attention that Walgreens is not marking the clearance prices on all the clearance products. You can take these products to the register for a price check and more times than not, the clearance price will appear rather than what might be marked on the shelf.

Bi-Lo Coupon Policy (from Customer Service Desk)

Bi-Lo accepts coupons that are in date and must match the item purchased. Unlimited coupons are allowed per transaction. No overage.

Food Lion Coupon Policy

Our company will gladly accept manufacturer and store coupons, provided they scan in our register system. We will however, decline the use of single-sided coupons offering a free product, a coupon that has a higher dollar amount than the products value, a competitors' coupon, or if the coupon appears to be computer generated, copied, or reproduced. Unfortunately, we will only accept one coupon per item.

Lowes Foods

The prevailing guideline is that Lowes Foods reserves the right to limit quantities purchased.

Lowes Foods welcomes legitimate manufacturer and Lowes Foods store coupons when the following requirements are met:

* Customer must use their Lowes Rewards card.
* Coupons must be in date.
* Coupons must match the item(s) purchased.
* Store coupons must specify Lowes Foods.
* Limit 4 coupons for same item. For example, you have five coupons for a specific cereal and have purchased five of the item, we will honor the coupon for up to four of the boxes of cereal. This allows us to ensure product availability for all customers.

We will double up to 20 manufacturer coupons every day with a face value of $.99 or less. No minimum purchase is required. Manufacturer coupons for FREE items or Buy One, Get One FREE items will not be doubled. A doubled coupon will not be honored if the doubled amount exceeds the retail or sale price of the coupon item. No coupon will provide cash back. Coupons will be doubled up to the price of the item. Store coupons are not included in double coupon guidelines.

Internet Coupons

There has been a growing number of fraudulent internet coupons in the marketplace. We are committed to protecting our customers, manufacturers and our company against this illegal activity. Therefore, Lowes Foods will practice the following guidelines for internet coupons:

* We will only accept printable internet coupons if they scan at checkout
* We will not honor FREE Product coupons printed from the Internet
* We will accept Buy One Get One FREE and other values that have a purchase requirement
* We will usually not accept coupons for more than 75% value of the product. For example, a $2 off internet coupon for a product that sells for $2.25 is unlikely to be legitimate. If there are exceptions, we are provided advance notice by the manufacturer.
* We will not accept any photo copies of internet copies.
* We will accept internet coupons that have an expiration date. If no expiration date is visible, we can not accept the coupon.
* Coupons will be rejected if they are distorted, altered or obvious duplicates. Coupons are non-transferrable meaning they should not be photocopied or scanned and distributed to others.
* Coupons have unique serial numbers printed on them and follow industry-standard format. Any presented coupon that does not follow standard format will not be accepted.
* Internet coupons limits are same as manufacture and store coupons.

Harris Teeter Coupon Policy

These are guidelines, not rules, and are left to the discretion of the individual store manager. We reserve the right to limit quantities on items and coupons, based on the actual store inventory; therefore, these guidelines may vary from store to store. All coupon guidelines are posted at Customer Service in all stores.

1. We accept coupons that have not passed their expiration date for use; we can not accept any expired coupons

14. We do not accept internet coupons that do not appear to be originals or that won't scan

CVS Coupon Policy

Up to one CVS coupon and one MFR coupon can be used on any one item.
However, this will not work in a one-item transaction, because the
register "item counter" logic will not allow more coupons than items.
Additionally, this one-to-one relationship of coupons to items exists in
all transactions. (Ex.: If you use 7 coupons total on 4 items, you
must have 7 total items the transaction for the logic to permit
redemption.)

Also, we take internet coupons with barcode at the discretion of the
store manager.

Furthermore, coupons are accepted on clearance merchandise (up to the
value of the product) as well as $1 off coupons on 99cent items, etc.

If you have any further questions or concerns regarding our coupon
policies, please speak to your local store's manager.

Wal-Mart Coupon Policy

Wal-Mart accepts the following types of coupons (see guidelines below):
Manufacturer coupons (Cents Off)
Free merchandise (or Buy-One-Get-One-Free) coupons
Store coupons
Pharmacy (Advertising and Promotional) coupons
Internet coupons
Soft drink container caps
# The following are guidelines and limits:
Wal-Mart only accepts coupons for merchandise we sell and only when presented at the time of purchase.
Coupons should have an expiration date and be presented within the valid dates. Wal-Mart will not accept expired coupons.
Internet coupons should be legible and say "Manufacturer Coupon." There should be a valid remit address for the manufacturer and a scannable bar code.
Only one coupon per item is permitted.
Use of 40 or more coupons per transaction will require approval by Customer Service Manager.

Wegman's

We only double manufacturers' coupons with a face value of $.99 or less with the following exceptions and limitations:

* Coupons with a face value of $1.00 or greater will be redeemed at face value.
* One manufacturers' coupon per item for a SPECIFIC BRAND product.
* Only FOUR(4) manufacturers' coupons can be doubled on FOUR(4) of the same brand product per day. Additional coupons for the same brand product will be redeemed at face value.
* Only FOUR(4) manufacturers' coupons for free products can be redeemed per day (excluding Internet coupons).
* The double or face value of a coupon may NOT exceed the retail price.
* One manufacturers' coupon and Shoppers Club discount or store coupon may be redeemed on the same item. The combination of a manufacturers' coupon and a Shoppers Club discount/store coupon may not exceed the retail price.
* One manufacturers' coupon may be redeemed for each Club Pack product.
* We cannot give you a raincheck for manufacturers' coupons.
* We do not accept manufacturers' coupons for free products downloaded from the Internet.

Face Value Redemption For...

* Alcohol coupons
* Coupons not for a specific brand name item
* Rebate/refund certificates
* Free item coupons (excluding Internet coupons)

Additional Shoppers Club Notes

Discounts on certain items (marked by MFR) are supported by the manufacturer; we are required by law to charge sales tax on the manufacturer-sponsored portion of such offers.

Forgotten coupons and Shoppers Club discounts must be redeemed within two weeks of the original purchase date with original receipt.

BJ's does, and even allows you to use several coupons if you are buying a multi-pack. So, if you are buying a multi-pack of toothpaste with five tubes in it and had five Colgate coupons, you could use them. The important distinction here is that the individual units in the multi-pack have to come packaged individually, like the individual tubes you'd buy at a regular store. So the big huge boxes of diapers don't count for the multi-pack rule since it has different packaging specifically for BJs.

Walgreens Coupon Policy

Can a customer use both a Manufacturer’s coupon and Walgreens coupon for the same item in a purchase?

* One Walgreen and one manufacturer coupon can be used for the same item, unless either coupon prohibits such use.
* Walgreens Roto Ad Coupons, Instant Value Coupons (IVC), and a manufacturer’s coupon can be used towards the purchase of any one item. “One coupon per purchase” means one coupon must be tendered for each PIECE sold.

What happens if the Manufacturer coupon’s value is more than the retail value?

* Walgreens does not provide cash back if a coupon is presented for more than the purchase value of the item (e.g., the customer is using the coupon to purchase a clearance item).
* If the retail of the item is less than the face value of the coupon:
o the coupon value shall be the retail value if the state requires taxes to be paid on that item,
o the coupon value shall be the retail value plus taxes if the state does not require taxes to be paid on the item.

Can a customer use a coupon after a sale has been made?

* All valid coupons must be presented to the cashier at the time of sale only!

If there is no quantity limit on a Walgreens coupon can a manager impose his/her own limit?

* Yes, managers have the right to limit the quantities of all advertised items.

Does Walgreens price match or accept coupons from other retailers?

* Walgreens does not price match with other retailer.
* Walgreens does not accept coupons from other retailers or coupons for products not carried in our stores.
* Walgreens does not accept expired coupons.

A customer purchased an item using a manufacturer’s coupon and wants to return it. At what price do we return the item?

* If an item purchased with a manufacturer’s coupon is returned, the customer will get the retail price of the item. If the customer purchased an item with a Walgreens coupon, the customer receives the price paid.

Example 1: If the retail price for an item is $1.49 and the manufacturers coupon was 25¢ off, the refund amount would be $1.49 plus tax.

Example 2: If the retail price for an item is $1.49 and the Walgreens coupon was 25¢ off, the refund amount would be $1.24 plus tax.

Stores are not required to keep Roto ad coupons. What about Instant Value Coupons?

* For Instant Value Coupons, stores receive credit from the manufacturer ONLY if the coupon is scanned. Once an IVC coupon has been scanned and the transaction is finished, you can discard the coupon.

A customer had a coupon with no limit on it and is trying to buy an item that is “buy one get one free,” how many times are we allowed to scan a coupon for this purchase?

* Only one coupon can be used when a customer is purchasing a Buy 1 Get 1 free item, because the customer is only purchasing one item.

Got Chocolate?

It has been a while since I discussed my infamous shopping trips and I think its beyond time. Let me tell you first, this is only beginning of the week. I will make many many more trips. This was just a quick trip to my local Walgreens. My Walgreens trip was amazing. I was so blown away by the service. I bought 4 loaves of bread ($.50 a piece), 2 bottles of Scope ($8-$5RR=$3), 1 bottle of Listerine ($2.99-$1 coupon=$2-$2RR-FREE so I sent the kids in for the other 2). 2 Glade soy candles + 1 brownie + 1 box of candle refills=$2-$1RR=$1, 1 bag of True North Almond Crisps, 1 pkg. Icebreakers, and 38 bars of Ghirardelli Duet chocolate bars $.65 a piece. The chocolate bars were $1.30 for 2 and in Walgreens were coupons for $1 off 2 bars. Yes, you read that correctly. I paid $.15 a bar so $5.70! I am so giddy! Everything I bought out of pocket was paid for by Register Rewards.

I felt so good that I stopped by the Albertsons I love to hate (instead of my favorite Albertsons) and tried to pull off their wonderful Quaker deal. In their ad they had 2 $3 off Quaker products coupons. I took that coupon and I bought 10 boxes of the Chewy Quaker granola bars. They are my cryptonite. They are on sale 5 for $8 and I used my $3 off coupon and 5 $.75 off the purchase of 2 coupons. I saved an additional $3.75 and paid $6.25 out of pocket. I wanted to share my new found math skills but they claimed to be out of Quaker Oatmeal Old Fashioned Oats! That's why they are NOT my favorite Albertsons but I will go to my favorite Albertsons later and make up for lost time!

Kanye Disses Taylor Swift

Now I normally do not blog about random entertainment stuff but this one got my goat. Everyone knows that Kanye West can be quite outspoken, right.

Well, Kanye decided to diss Taylor Swift on the MTV awards tonight. Competing against artists like Beyonce, Taylor won the Best Female Video Award. When she began to give her speech, Kanye took the microphone and said she could say what she wanted when he was done but, "I'm sorry, but Beyoncé had one of the best videos of all time."

This caused a lot of boos and a even more Tweets! I was shocked but must admit that I was thinking the same thing myself. I am curious though. I wonder if more people will be outraged by this or Congressman Wilson.

Joy At A time of Grief

Everyone is remembering 9/11 on this 8 year anniversary. This made me remember what I was doing on that day. I had just given birth in June and I needed to take my oldest son to the doctor for a checkup. I woke up that morning and I had really bad panic attack. I could not sleep but even worse, I could not leave the house. My husband was very worried. He thought that maybe my Agoraphobia was getting worse. I walked back and forth from my room to my girl's room holding my son.

This ritual went on for 3 hours. My husband left for work and I sat in the center of the bed and waited for the news to start. Yes, I woke up very early. After I watched the news for the morning and saw nothing out of the ordinary. Time went on and the news about the hijackings quickly took center stage. I was floored. I was blown away at the devastation but I no longer felt anxiety. I was relaxed and felt comfortable. I rescheduled the doctor's appointment but I no longer felt like I would die if I left my house. I just could not leave at that point because I am a stickler for scheduling and if I am late, I will not go.

No, the attacks were not anywhere near my home in Texas. Yes, I realized that at the time but I felt so much better once I saw it on the news. I had not had a panic attack like that before. Much of my relief was from the anxiety leaving my body.

The downside was me sitting there feeling joy at a time of such grief.

Toys R Us is going to launch its nationwide video game trade in program! Insiders say that Toys R Us will sell all of the used games to Gamer's Factory. Like all programs, there are rules. With video games the rules are going to be very strict.

All games must be in their original cases and must include the manual.
Customers receive a gift card that can be used at Toys R Us, Babies R Us and ToysRus.com!
Games from older or "classic" systems can be traded as well but will only yield around $.25-$.50 per game.
Customers can only trade in 3 games of the same title.
All trade-ins will be done at the Guest Services desk.
There is a cap of $1000 a day for trade-ins.
Games cannot be cracked or damaged. Slight scratches are okay.
Gift cards can be used to purchase anything from the above mentioned locations.

I am still on the hunt to find cool deals for kids. As a mom, I love finding deals and discounts and as a big mouth, I love to share them. I was bouncing around last night and ran up on a few more things that might interest everyone.

Home Depot has a program called the Kids Workshop. The first Saturday in every month, kids can go and participate in building awesome crafts. These are not your regular crafts. Your child (ages 5-12) will attend a fun "How To" clinic that teaches children how to build things like banks, bean bag toss boxes, etc.

Another major find was via Jif! Yes, the choosy moms choose Jif people! I have a really borderline unhealthy obsession with peanut butter. I make peanut butter fudge and then put peanut butter on it. I am a huge fan. I am so blessed that no one in my house is allergic because someone would have to go. I just love my peanut butter. That is why its no surprise that I was casually viewing the Jif website. Yes, I do casually visit. Now look at what I found:

It's that time of year again. Its almost Christmas. We are watching Amazon for deals and hoping for a last minute clearance. Many of us are also hoping to get some extra work to be able to pay for many of the gifts we want to purchase for our loved ones. Well hope no more, its time! Every year around this time, certain companies start hiring.

One company that hires this time of year like clock work is Neiman Marcus. They pay $11 an hour and offer three weeks of on-site training. From that point, you can either continue to work in the facility or work from home. There are also other perks like sales incentives and great discounts on movie tickets, clothing, perfume, etc. Neiman Marcus is a really great place to work. My mother worked there when she was younger and actually made a sale to Aretha Franklin! You never know who is on the other end of the phone so smile when you speak. Working at Home and the Walgreens Journey

This fun and frugal tip is about freebies at Walgreens. First I want to just debunk the theories about working at home. You know all of those naysayers that say they cannot work at home for fear of going bananas. They cannot work at home because they are socially dependent upon the presence of others. You know, all those folks who say if you don't work at home then you miss out on everything. Yeah those folks!

Well my day was long and hectic and is not even close to being over. I started the day by taking the kiddos to the doctor and then a rousing trip to the pharmacy. Of course that's an all day job with 4 kids and even more prescriptions.

While I was in the pharmacy, I thought I would grab a few free items that I noticed in the ad. Walgreens is having a wing dinger of a deal this week. There are several free items available and I figured I would take advantage while I waited. I got in line and noticed the couple in front of me using a 15% off coupon. I leaned in to listen as to how they got that wonderful coupon and realized it was a family and friend coupon. Well I can get those online! I was upset. I was sitting there thinking about how if I were at home I could find more deals and save more money.

I proceeded to check out the few little items I had while reminiscing about my computer. If I were at home, I could search which stores still had my favorite items in stock! I could get the Rembrandt toothpaste for $5 and receive a $5 Register Reward making that item free! I could have also gotten the Men's Zone razor for $4 and got the $4 RR. I continued to pout as I waited in line to make my purchase.

I bought Carefree liners ($2) and a few Colgate 360 Actiflex ($3) toothbrushes. I was happy because although I was spending $5, I would receive $5 in Register Rewards. It was like I spent nothing at all. I found a lot of joy in this until I stepped out of line and look back to make sure I had my keys and noticed a gentleman sitting a box of Breathe Right Nose Strips on the counter. They were on sale for $4.99 and you get a $4 Register Reward. AAaaaaaarrrggh! Yes, if I were at home I could have looked that up.

The moral of that story is that 1) Working at home keeps you more up to date and in the know than doing anything outside the home 2) Working at home teaches you organization 3) Working at home helps you budget (you can organize your coupons, save on commuting fees, and avoid being overcharged by price comparison shopping.

Baking Therapy

I get these moments where I can't think straight. This has been a hectic and annoying day. I think its time for my own little therapy session. Well, I thought it was time for therapy. Let me explain my therapy session.

Therapy for me is baking. I love to bake. When I get stressed, the kids usually see a nice big cake, plate of cookies, pan of brownies or a nice loaf of banana bread. Just thinking it about is relaxing. All the relaxing thoughts quickly flew from my mind when I got ready to make a loaf of banana bread.

Picture this moment, I have my eggs, milk, flour, etc. etc. I reached for my very ripe bananas and could not find them anywhere. I looked in the cabinet then the freezer (don't ask). The bananas are no where to be found. The children were all looking at me as if mom had finally earned a trip to the funny farm. Finally, I asked if anyone knew where my bananas went and they all said the youngest threw them away.

Okay, I think I must have looked something like the birth child of Satan and Martha Stewart because he asked what I was doing with that spoon. I asked him why did he throw away my bananas and he confidently answered by saying, "They fell on the floor".

This child needs a job!

Toys R Us or Cash for Clunkers?

Being a huge fan of coupons, I just have to tell you about this wonderful wonderful deal. Toys 'R' Us is offering coupons for traded in items. No I am NOT getting this confused with Cash for Clunkers. Its over people, let it go!

This is the opportunity to get 20% off 16 manufacturers' products. Some participating manufacturers are Baby Cache, Eddie Bauer, Evenflo and Graco. Obviously there are more but this will give you an idea of what they want.

This program will begin on Friday. August 28th and will continue through September 20th. The program may be extended if its highly successful.

Important facts:

Coupons can only be used for those particular categories (Graco for Graco, etc.).
There is no limit to how many items you can trade in.
There is also no limit on how old the items can be when you trade them.

Although this program will rid homes of many recalled products, its also aimed at stimulating the economy. Cash for Clunkers has now ended but guess what will begin.....in Texas. There is a program called Aircheck for Texas that will repair and replace old vehicles. This will help reduce air pollution.

To participate you must:

* Be registered in one of nine North Texas counties for at least a year.

* Have been taken to a participating car dealership.
* Meet specific net income requirements, depending on the number of people in the household.

My son plays football and I was noticing on Saturday that one of the parents looked VERY different than she looked last season. Now this lady is a walker. I, on the other hand, could do professional sitting. I watched her walk all last season. It was quite exhausting. I had to drink a LOT of water. She really made me tired. I knew she was walking to lose a few pounds but I really did not see a change.

This football season is totally different. I barely recognized this woman. She definitely lost more than a few inches. I just had to ask. I was terrified to find out what she did because I knew if it involved exercise, I couldn't do it. Don't look like that, I am allergic. Exercise makes me sweat. Anyhoo! The lady, LeMia, told me that she continues to walk but she threw in a secret weapon. Well if its a weapon against the bulge, of course I am all ears. She went on to tell me that she wears a Body Magic suit, daily. At first, I sat there wondering, what the heck. She must have noticed the puzzled look on my face because she showed me a brochure with the Body Magic suit in it and I was amazed. She told me how the suit helps hold you in and in turn helps you loose weight.

I sat there in awe. It made so much sense. She walked 2 miles everyday last season and I saw no change. Looking at her without wearing the suit, she was considerably smaller. Everyday I asked, "Are you wearing the suit?" I would always catch her right after she took it off to go walking. She told me she would walk in it one day so I could see the difference. I was blown away. I cannot believe the difference. I just knew I had to spread the word.

Can you say Perfect Peanut Butter Pleasantries? Pillsbury said it with their new Pillsbury cookies. You probably remember my initial post, Pssst, Got Cookies? I had just received my coupons from Psst and I was dying to brag.

I went to my local Albertsons and bought used my free coupon. When we got home, my girls were going nuts because they wanted to eat the cookies. I made them wait a little while, but then I couldn't take it anymore. I was very tired and I really wanted some peanut butter, so I let the girls make them. My oldest daughter is 11 and the youngest daughter is 10. They went into the kitchen and in true kid fashion, they grabbed a cookie sheet, threw the cookies on the sheet, tossed them in the oven, and ran to watch Disney Channel.

I must admit I was really worried. I figured I better go and check them out. I peeked through the oven door and saw they were not touching each other so I felt a lot better. My oldest daughter, the Royal Watch Watcher, jumped up and ran into the kitchen a few minutes later. All of the other children went running into the kitchen as if the oven called their name.

The cookies smelled wonderful. I was sitting there waiting anxiously for someone to bring "mommy" a cookie! They all emerged about 10 minutes later and no cookie for me. I sheepishly walked into the kitchen and found this:
The crumbs were delicious, so much so, I went back to the store and got myself some MORE Pillsbury Cookie dough and enjoyed the entire package. No, I did not share. No, I do not feel bad. No, I do not blame my children. Those cookies were gooooood!

Work at Home is Fun

I post job posting here and on The Schmooze all of the time, but that's just work you can do at home. Don't worry, I will still post jobs. I just wanted to show you guys some of the other stuff I do, at home.

Yes, I eat Cheetohs. They are delicious. Oh yeah and I am a very very amateur cake decorator. I have tried a few different cakes but I am still a big amateur. Its soothing to my nerves, so I will just continue to decorate.

My skateboarders kept taking the boards off and breaking the cake. They had fun eating this one.

I figure this is a proper title for this particular post. By now, unless you have been MAJOR busy, you guys have heard about Harvard Scholar, Henry Louis Gates Jr. who was arrested for disorderly conduct. If you have not heard then I will give a brief (hopefully unbiased) recap.

Mr. Gates was attempting to unstick his stuck front door, when a concerned neighbor called the police and told them there was burglar breaking into the home of Mr. Gates. The police arrived and questioned Mr. Gates. Due to the fact that Mr. Gates yelled at the police officers when asking for their name and badge numbers, he was arrested.

When asked by a reporter, what he thought about the arrest of Mr. Gates, President Obama said the police reacted "stupidly". Now groups are forming everywhere demanding the President apologize. He did come forth and say that he spoke hastily but did NOT apologize.

Does he need to apologize? If so, what for? Should the President be punked by the police? I ask that question because people have been saying, they are the police, they carry the guns, you don't yell at them, you don't disrespect them. Are we giving them too much power? Are we saying that when they are wrong they are really right? Is there no wonder why so many people are wrongfully imprisoned and beaten to death by these upright and above the fray citizens?

I personally, do NOT think the President owes anyone an apology. I believe its great that someone decided to be honest. If George Bush had admitted that people suffered after Katrina because of economic status, then maybe I would have an ounce of respect for the man. I rather know where you stand than wonder where you lay. I agree with President Obama, not because he is black, not because he is our President, but because he is right. How many times have you seen people yelling and swearing at the cops, those people are never arrested. Instead, they are given a ticket and sent off to have dinner with their loved ones. Why was this man arrested? Is it racism? Were the cops on a power trip? Who knows? Either way, they behaved quite stupidly in my opinion. The man presented the necessary identification to prove that he lived at that address and because they could not arrest him for that reason, they created a new one. This is a misuse of authority, and these ignorant people want an apology. Do any of you know how many black people cower away for fear of being wrongfully accused of a crime?

Due to our economic situation in this country, I often talk about how to survive in '09. Something tells me that a stack of coupons will not help me this time. Not much has changed in America when people still rally together and defend such nonsense.

What's more fun than making stores battle for your business? Walmart learned the money making possibilities with price comparison and now Target has joined the ride.

Target now offers a Low Price Promise to customers. It states that "Target stores nationwide will match advertised prices from competitors on identical items in local markets".
Some areas have enjoyed the Low Price Promise since March of this year. If your area was not included, you will enjoy this perks of this option from here on out.

If its still a bit confusing, I will explain further. If you find a product or item at another store and its being offered at a price less than the price at Target, Target will match that price dollar for dollar. The only requirements are that the products match exactly. You must make sure the model number matches the product you are looking at in the competition's ad or store.

There is a long list of exemptions for the Low Price Promise. A few situations that are not valid for the Low Price Promise are:

POSITION PURPOSE

Excess Papers in Mesquite Texas

I realized that I don't say much about my kids. I try and keep there private lives private, but I really wanted to share information about their latest endeavors. Kids just love to stay busy. My children keep some sort of entrepreneurial project going at all times. My oldest makes these wonderful pencils with flower tops. I will post pictures of those later. My youngest daughter designs her own t-shirts. My sons mow yards and clean sports fields to earn extra cash. Its a busy life but its what makes them comfortable.

They have come up with a collaborative effort recently called Excess Papers. Check out their flier!

EXCESS PAPERS

Are you finding yourself with an excess amount of newspapers in your front yard? If you love the papers, but you don't have time to pick them up everyday, let Excess Papers, pick them up for you. Excess Papers is a group of young kids looking to run a reverse paper route. Excess Papers will pick up all of the papers in your front yard on Friday mornings. If a different day works better for you, feel free to make a request.
